You tapped your perfectly polished fingernails on table in Fairy Tail impatiently. The hands on the clock were on 8:07 pm. The rest of Team Natsu were supposed here so you could all catch a train to your job together, but only you and Lucy had shown up.

“What’s keeping them held up so long?!” You complained smashing a fist down on the table. So what if your nails got chipped, you wouldn’t care anyways. The client of this particular job was very picky, he insisted you all wore formal attire. Lucy picked this job of decorating for a party because she was low on rent. Mostly due to Natsu literally destroying every possibility of a reward for a job.

“They better hurry up, I don’t want to be stuck in this dress all night!” Lucy exclaimed while pointing towards herself. She was stuck in a teal skin tight dress that only extended down to her mid-thigh. It flaunted her figure and showed off her every curve, you didn’t see a problem with it.

“But Lucy, you look so pretty in that! And you even did your hair fancily, why not enjoy it?” You attempted to turn her mood around for the sake of the team. And she truly did look beautiful, leaf green high-heels made her legs look even longer and her curled hair cascaded down the sides of her face. In fact, it made you worried that tonight she would steal your crush Natsu away from your grasp.

Lucy began to pick at her nails that were painted with bubblegum pink flowers. She looked up at you.

“Really, (y/n)? Thank you, that means a lot to me. But I really can’t wait to get back into my PJ’s, it’s starting to get cold.” Lucy replied. As if on command, Natsu and Gray came bursting through the door. Gray had started casting an Ice-Make spell, probably the reason why the air was so chilly. Within an instant, Gray had put his spell into effect and Natsu’s hands and feet we covered in giant blocks of ice. His hands sunk to the wooden floor boards like an anchor.

“Is that all you got, ice cube brain?” Natsu taunted. Gray smirked and chuckled a bit.

“Funny how you mention ice cubes, Natsu, because now you practically are one.” Gray shot back at him. Natsu was fuming, he puffed his cheeks out with air.

“Don’t get hot headed, flame boy. You’re completely defenseless now.” Gray rose his black polished dress shoe, pushed Natsu to the ground and hovered his foot above his face. Natsu grinned.

“Fire Dragon Roar-” Natsu almost shot out fire before you and Lucy were dragging the two boys by the collars away from the scene. You grabbed Gray forcefully, not wanting him to harm Natsu’s perfect face. Of course, Natsu would have won that fight. You believed that he could defeat anyone naturally, because you are his biggest “fangirl.”

“Gray. Get those ice blocks off Natsu. Now.” You said as you pierced him with cold eyes that rivaled his “Ice-Make: Lance.” He quickly pulled away, knowing you were just as feared as Erza.

“Fine, I’ll do it.” He pouted and complied. Gray put his hands on his creation and it disappeared at his will. Lucy sighed of relief, glad she didn’t have to deal with the bickering boys any longer.

“Be more careful you guys!” Lucy said. “You could have ruined your suits and Fairy Tail would have a bad reputation with the client!” The boys nodded simultaneously.

“Aye…” Happy peaked around the table and said distraughtly. Even he was wearing a bright green bowtie.

Gray wore a black suit that had several noticeable wrinkles from the fight with Natsu. His dull, icey blue tie was knotted to perfection and his onyx dress shoes were only scuffed slightly. He didn’t put any care into his hair, it was the same as it always was.

Natsu, on the other hand wore a white suit. Most likely to be different than Gray you assumed. The scarf he wore daily was wrapped around his neck, you knew he would never take it off for even a second. And with it, he wore a very sloppy coral pink necktie that matched his hair. You made a mental note to yourself to fix that, you hated messy things.

You heard the door creak open and Erza walked in, clad in her usual steel armour. You looked at her incredulously.

“Erza, sorry if this offends you, but weren’t you supposed to wear something a little more...formal?” You asked. She looked down and shrugged.

“It’s fine, I was planning on changing here anyways.” Happy looked at her with wide eyes. He acted like he didn’t know what she was about to do.

Erza’s body flashed, and in a moments notice her re-equip magic discarded her armour. She wore a long purple dress with flowers at the bottom. Earlier when you and Lucy were dress shopping with her, she said she would wear a dress that brought back memories of her old friends. Although you had no idea what she was talking about, you played along and shrugged it off. Maybe Erza should teach you a little bit of re-equip magic, it would for sure cut down on the time it takes you to get ready in the morning. It seemed really useful.

“Much better. Sorry I’m late. Did I miss anything?” She asked. Lucy nodded her head horizontally vigorously. The boys remained silent. You reacted calmly, these people did not know how to act.

“No, nothing at all. In fact, you came here at the perfect time. We were planning on departing soon.” You replied smoothly. Erza smiled.

“I’m glad the boys aren’t causing any chaos.” Erza giggled. You smiled cheekily at her.

“Aren’t we all?” You said simply. She returned your smile, and even Lucy laughed at that one.

“I thought the guild would be destroyed before I got here.” Erza said, glancing at her watch.

“It looks like we should get going. We’re going to be late for our train ride if we don’t depart soon.” Erza said to the group. “Does everyone have their tickets?” You all pulled out a thin, white flimsy ticket that had the number of the train, the destination, the date and the departure time on it. Natsu held his up unhappily. No surprise there.

“Let’s get moving, everyone.” Erza took the lead as she opened up the guild doors to the outside world. Gray followed her, and behind him was Happy who complied with a cheerful “Aye!”

Natsu was about to follow suit when you grabbed him by the left hand. You still had many intentions of fixing that tie of his.

“Hold up a sec.” You said. He turned around and made eye contact with your shining orbs. It somehow made you blush at the sudden attention. You quickly released his hand, not wanting any more physical touches that would make you feel even more humiliated, and you definitely did not want to be flushing crimson any more than you already were.

“Yes, (y/n)?” Natsu questioned. Even if he didn’t touch you, his charming voice still made blood rush to your delicate cheeks.

“Do you know how to knot a tie?” You said. This time it was Natsu’s turn to blush. He turned his head away towards the ground.

“Nah, Igneel never taught me how. But it’s not like he would know, he’s a dragon, why would he need to know these things?” Natsu chuckled as he fidgeted with the fabric of his misshapen tie. Your fingers extended out to fix the problem. When he pulled away his hands to let you work, your hand brushed his warm skin, sending shivers up your spine.

Natsu looked down at you as your hands nimbly adjusted the knot. When it was all done, you let out a satisfied sigh.

“What do you think?” You asked, proud of your work.

“Thank you (y/n), I look way better than Gray!” He grinned his famous adorable grin. “Where did you learn how to do that anyways? You’re a girl.” Natsu stated the obvious.

“Well… You see… I figured, m-maybe if I had a boyfriend, that’s a skill I should have. I think it would just be cute to help him before work…” You said burying your face in your hands. The words you said flustered you, why did you tell him of all people?!

Now that the damage had been done, you prepared for the worst; Natsu finding out about your crush on him. Little did you expect him to pull your hands away from your face. He leaned in closer as you looked at him with surprise and shock, and a let out a small chuckle.

Natsu chuckled as he closed his eyes and moved in further.

“So cute…” He muttered. You felt his lips curve into a smirk against your own. It had been a long time ago since you squeezed your eyes shut from the quick yet constant pressure.

Natsu’s hands wrapped around your waist while you stood on your tip-toes to reach him. You grabbed onto his necktie to pull him closer. Although the kiss broke off in a few seconds to fulfill both of your needs for air, you were satisfied of the passion and emotion he put behind that lip-lock.

You let your mind wander back to a few moments ago. His lips were sweet and addictive, just like his presence. Natsu’s lips were soft and absolutely delectable. But you would never tell anyone your thoughts about that. Ever.

“Thank you…” You said in a hushed voice. His head perked up. Natsu tapped your nose playfully.

You smirked as you thought of something. “So, can I help you knot your necktie again sometime?”
